Guru Nanak Dev University is the
major sporting university, having won the coveted
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy maximum number of
times. Keeping in view the sporting tradition of
the university and the areas under its jurisdiction
it was decided to introduce Masters in Sports Physiotherapy
Program. Its a well known fact that the champions
are manufactured in the laboratories rather than
the sports fields. The establishment of this department
was a step towards providing the best to the sportsmen
of the region. In 1995, Masters Program in Sports
Physiotherapy was introduced for the first time
in South East Asia.. Over a period this program
has been accepted as the premier program for training
physiotherapists in the much needed new discipline
of sports physiotherapy. Subsequently Bachelor in
Physiotherapy Program was introduced in 1998 to
create entry level physiotherapists in this region. |
