- Designed, planned and presented, "Center With Potential For Excellence In Sports Sciences" and was appointed Coordinator Component "A", University Grants Commission 's Centre for Excellence, a 30 crores project of which 6 crores has been already allocated to the university.

The Department finds special mention in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council Report of 2007 as having established International recognition and Visibility in a short span of 12 years. Transformed a one-man department in 1995 to internationally recognized department in 2007. |
