The department offers Ph.D. program under the Faculty of Sports Medicine & Physiotherapy. The eligibility for Ph.D. program is as follows:

1. M.D. / M.S. in any discipline for Ph.D. degree in Sports Medicine & Physiotherapy with specialization in Sports Medicine
2. Masters in Physiotherapy in any discipline Ph.D. degree in Sports Medicine & Physiotherapy with specialization in Sports Physiotherapy

This is a research based program with the candidate spending at least one academic year in the department for research purposes in one block or in break ups. The minimum duration for submitting the thesis is 3 years post Masters.
